Dr. Jeffrey Seif
Shalom and welcome to our congregation’s website. Here you will find useful information about what we believe and how we live it out as a community of Jewish and Christian believers in Jesus, the Jewish Messiah.
My particular gift is in teaching–and on the Jewish roots of the Bible and of the Christian faith. I have taught those with a deep and abiding interest in exploring the Jewish roots of the Christian faith. While classroom students explored the Bible’s roots with me intellectually, here congregants celebrate those roots socially. Here, Israel’s sacred holidays are celebrated in light of their fulfillment in Israel’s Messiah–Jesus. In ways it could be said that Sar Shalom is a Christian church with a very Jewish heart.
Those who have similar hearts may well find a home for their heart here. We look forward to meeting you soon.
what to expect at shar shalom
What are our services like?
Our services might not be what you’re accustomed to, so we wanted to let you know what to expect ahead of time. Our services are on Friday nights, referred to in Judaism as an “Erev Shabbat” service. We open our service by welcoming Shabbat together, lighting the candles and saying the blessings.
We continue by reading a Psalm, celebrating Yeshua with praise & worship, dedicating our tithes and offerings to ADONAI, and enjoying a drash (teaching) by our leader, Dr. Jeffrey Seif, about the weekly Torah readings.
Sar Shalom reads Scripture from the Tree of Life Version of the Holy Scriptures, a new Biblical translation of which Dr. Seif led as Project Manager and now holds the position of Chief Theologian at the TLV Bible Society.

How do I get there?
Sar Shalom/Prince of Peace Congregation meets at CFNI campus in Jack Moore Hall. The address is 504 Fawn Ridge Dr, Dallas, TX 75224.
What should I wear?
Our congregation has a “come as you are” atmosphere. You will see some dressed up; some dressed casual – and sometimes our Rabbi dressed in a Harley Davidson motorcycle jacket. We have no expectations for attire.
