Parasha Vayigash – Expect the unexpected

Dr. Jay Axtell walks through this week’s Parasha Vayigash — a foreshadow of Messiah. Joseph has been sold into slavery and redeemed as ruler of the house of Pharaoh. We can see the Hand of The Lord at work, expect the unexpected.

“But God sent me ahead of you to ensure a remnant in the land and to keep you alive for a great escape.” – Genesis 45:7

Joseph has become his brother’s savior and can contempt himself even when they don’t recognize him. Just like Our Lord and Saviour, Yeshua:

‘As Yeshua drew near and saw Jerusalem, He wept over her, saying, “If only you had recognized this day the things that lead to shalom! But now they are hidden from your eyes. For the days will come upon you when your enemies will surround you with barricades and hem you in on all sides.” – Luke 19:41-43
