Adonai Chosen Fast – Isaiah 58:6-14

Written By:

Our Heavenly Father, we come before You with Psalms of praise in the Name of Yeshua; giving thanks and blessings to You, our Great God and Abba! We love and honor You for who You are! We lift up our eyes to the hills whence cometh our help, our help comes from You ADONAI, the maker of Heaven and Earth (Psalm 121:1-2)!

O Great and Mighty King of all the world, we confess that You are LORD and worthy of all praise, honor, and glory! Holy and Righteous are You O God! Abba as we meditate upon Your goodness, grace, and mercies, we are inspired to seek Your Face through by Your Spirit, faith, meditation, study of Your Word, prayer and fasting!

We also acknowledge that You have given to us instructions in Your Torah and Holy Scriptures the ways in which we are to seek You through fasting! Because of the current day sin, hatred, chaos, rebellion, and diseases in our land, we focus our hearts upon Your Chosen Fast as a means by which we might receive Your Covenant Promises of deliverance and healing in our bodies and in our nation!

Therefore, in the Name of our Great High Priest, Yeshua Jesus, we pray the, Ruach HaKodesh, our Helper, empower us to fast both individually and corporately in accordance with Your Chosen Fast as written Isaiah 58 that we may receive answers to our prayers!

Abba, You commanded in Isaiah 58:6-8 that this is Your “Chosen Fast” for us: “Is not this the fast I choose: to release the bonds of wickedness, to untie the cords of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and to tear off every yoke? Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, to bring the homeless poor into your house? When you see the naked, to cover him, and not hide yourself from your own flesh and blood? Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will spring up speedily. Your righteousness will go before you, the glory of ADONAI as your rear guard: Then you will call, and ADONAI will answer. You will cry and He will say, “Here I am.” Isaiah 58:6-9 TLV.

We also acknowledge and honor Yeshua’s instructions in the Book of Matthew to us concerning fasting: “And whenever you fast, do not become sad-faced like the hypocrites, for they neglect their faces to make their fasting evident to men. Amen, I tell you, they have their reward in full! But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, so that your fasting won’t be evident to men, but to your Father who is in secret. And your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you.” Matthew 6:16-18.

Heavenly Father, we pray that You will impart to each of us the grace to pray and fast as did Your disciples; with the understanding that some of Your Covenant Promises come only through by fasting and prayer! Yeshua also said “The day will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them (His followers) and then they will fast” – Matthew 9:15.

Abba, as we look ahead to the Jewish Historical Fast Day (Tisha B’Av), the National Global Day of Prayer and Repentance (The Return) which will take place during the upcoming Biblical Feast Days in September (Fall Feast Days), we pray that our fasting and prayer will be acceptable and pleasing in thy sight, O Lord God, our Redeemer! We pray all these things in the Name of Yeshua, saying Amen and Amen!
